The Roos spoiled South Mildura’s going away party at Sarah Oval to record a 22-point victory over the Bulldogs to stay within a game of Mildura in fourth place.

It was a back and forth contest that was even at half time, and South holding an eight-point buffer at the final change, but a 6.2 to 1.2 final term allowed the visitors to run out 12.10 (82) to 9.6 (60) winners.

Roos coach Wade Hancock kicked four majors and big man Damon Tually finished with three, while Kaine Behr, Nick Jensen and Jack Cottrell were all impressive.

A season that started so brightly for South is now done as they have the bye next week.

A bright spot for them was young forward Kevin McDonald kicking five goals, while defenders Jayden Cogan, Ben Notting and Deklan Loveridge all rated a mention in their best players.
