The seniors, reserves, and under 18’s footballers had their first practice match hit out for 2022 on Monday night against the Mildura Demons at Aero Ovals.

In a hit out that featured new big man recruit Matthew Lutze and the return of Domenic Scullino from a long injury layoff, a young Bulldogs squad without the likes of Tyler Curtis, Kevin McDonald, and coach Ben Dalton, showed glimpse of what they are capable of this season.

In warm conditions, the boys were slow out of the blocks with Mildura kicking the first couple of goals, however our strong midfielders including Jackson Mcewen, Nathan Nolan, and Declan Loveridge started to show why they are A Graders of the competitions, by taking control of the midfield battle.

After an even first half, plenty of changes were made for the remainder of the game from both sides with there being plenty of positive passages of play. There were glimpses of the positive game plan being implemented by coach Ben Dalton, which was evident to the supporters in attendance.

There is now only a short turnaround to the next practice match this Saturday against Balranald.
